Grace Hargis

Grace Hargis is excited to join the Flame Tree Initiative team as Marketing and Development Coordinator.

Graduate of the University of Arizona in with a B.A. in International Studies, she went on to get her M.Sc. in Africa and International Development from the University of Edinburgh. During her education, Grace interned, studied, and lived in both Tanzania and Kenya. She looks forward to visiting and connecting with Malawi soon.

Grace has spent the last few years working in the craft beer industry, honing skills in marketing and sales as the manager of a brewery in Tucson, Arizona. She has also volunteered with multiple local refugee organizations and worked to maintain her Swahili language skills, originally developed with the help of FTI Strategic Advisor Teles Machibya. 

When not working on Flame Tree Initiative marketing and grant writing, Grace can be found sipping on craft beer, practicing yoga, and knitting scarves, socks, and sweaters for her two small dogs.
